Josie Thomas

Acro, Hip Hop Instructor

Originally from New York, I began my dance journey with CNY Storm, where I spent 10 amazing years growing as a dancer, teammate, and coach. I was most proud of my time on the Open Hip Hop team, where I had the incredible opportunity to dance alongside our program director, Vicki Rocheleau. Under her leadership, along with USASF President Kathy Penree, I developed a deep love for dance and the all-star world. During my time with CNY Storm, we celebrated many achievements, including placing fourth in the nation and seventh in the world at the Dance Worlds. When the program closed, I launched my own dance program, Dance Intensity, which went on to earn a silver medal at the Dance Worlds and multiple overall grand champion titles in Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Pom.

After relocating to Virginia, I accepted a full-time position with Adrenaline Studios, where I continued to grow as both a dancer and a coach. I had the opportunity to dance with their Open Coed Hip Hop team, earning a bronze medal, and coached several successful Summit teams—including a Junior Coed Hip Hop team that placed third. My expertise lies in the hip-hop category, with a strong emphasis on acro and tricks, which I love incorporating into both choreography and training. Now based in Illinois, I’m thrilled to bring my passion and experience to Studio 22 and continue sharing the joy of dance with the next generation of performers.
