Rachel Rosales Malin

Artistic Director, Technique Instructor, Junior All Star Coach, Senior All Star Coach

Rachel began teaching and coaching at Studio 22 in its founding year of 2009. She began her dance training in Chicago, IL at a young age and continued pursuing her passion for dance throughout her adult life. She became an instructor for the Universal Dance Association when she was 18, and continued for the next 5 years where she traveled across the US and to countries like Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, and Germany. Through UDA she has taught dance camps as well as judged both Regional and National level competitions. She was also a choreographer for UDA's Summer Camp routines for 3 years. Rachel danced professionally for the NBA with the Chicago Luvabulls for 2 seasons. Through the Chicago Bulls, she has performed on multiple TV programs like Windy City Live, Good Morning America, WGN Today, and ABC's Festival of Lights. In 2015, she had the honor being selected as one of the Luvabulls to perform in China. Rachel was also featured as one of "Chicago's Taste Makers" in, the famous clothing brand, UNI QLO’s 2015 National Ad Campaign. Rachel began working for Studio 22 in as it opened in 2009 and currently coaches the High Tek Junior All Stars. As Head Coach of the JAS, the team has earned multiple National Championship titles and have been USASF World Finalists. As Artistic Director and choreographer for nationally awarded, Company 22, she has earned multiple choreography awards, including Best Choreography at Hall of Fame Nationals. She is also AAC2 certified through Acrobatic Arts and is a certified and licensed instructor through Progressing Ballet Technique. Rachel also manages the Marketing and Media for Studio 22. Along side the work she does for the studio, she was also the JV Coach for the Maine South High School Hawkettes for five years and choreographed their Varsity High Kick routines for 3 seasons (2017-2019), which helped them earn two National Championships and one Runner-Up title. Rachel also has choreographed for high school teams like the Nationally ranked, Loyola Ramblerettes and at the collegiate level for the Michigan State University Elite Dance team. Rachel aims to foster a teaching environment where students feel encouraged, yet are taken outside of their comfort zones because that is where she believes dancers make their biggest improvements. She enjoys working in large team settings as well as in one-on-one settings and prides herself in dedicating her time and energy to help get her students to achieve their short term and long term goals. Rachel has a great passion for teaching dancers and feels honored to be a role model for young artists.
